With age, comes more fun!

Over my holiday break, my friend E and my fabulous friend J convinced me to bring Willy (and myself) to a kids New Years party. They told me there would be music, a puppet show, crafts, face painting, snacks, etc. Right off the bat I said “no,” because I was convinced that it was just another disaster waiting to happen for my boy. Again, they reassured me that I was was amongst friends, so there would be no judgement, and if it really didn’t work out… then I could leave.

Okay, deal.

Willy and I walked around, but he didn’t seem to be interested in the crafts, or face painting, but as soon as the band came out, I recognized the lead singer immediately. It was a childhood friend of mine who I’ve known since Kindergarten. I couldn’t believe that it was A) him, and B) he was in a band?! As I looked around at all of the kids; ages 2-10, my friend was a rock star! He was a real and total celebrity in the eyes of children. I couldn’t believe it. His name is Josh and his band’s name is called Josh and the Jamtones.

I was in awe.

I watched Willy the entire time dancing, jumping, laughing, sweating, and having the time of his life! HOLY CRAP!

My two girl friends just looked at me with that “I told you so” look and watched with me in awe. All of out kids were up and dancing like there was no tomorrow, and I was so proud of my old friend, Josh. And my son!

I am posting a video of Josh and his band for you to watch with your kids. You can find him on youtube.com as well as itunes. Josh and the Jamtones is great for children of all ages and it really gets them up and moving. His songs are catchy and fun. Let me know what you think. 🙂
