Mother’s Day and the Fish Philosophy

Look what my little man made me for Mother’s Day!

I just wanted to wish all of you a very happy Mother’s day. The way I see it, is that even if your not a mother, and you care about children and want to make a difference in their lives, than this day is for you. If you watch someone else’s child for them, and you continuously know how to make them smile, than this day is for you as well. And if your a teacher, who day after day, bends over backwards to help a child learn and grow, than this day if definitely for you too!

In my mind… you don’t always need to be a mom to celebrate Mother’s Day, because making a difference in the lives of others is just as important.

Consider it the “Fish Philosophy.” The Fish Philosophy is four simple steps that interconnect into four important practices: be there, play, make their day, choose your attitude. Through the Fish Philosophy, stronger relationships are built, and we teach and serve the community around us with love and respect. The Fish Philosophy was inspired by the fishermen and women at the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle WA. These are the men and women who effortlessly throw a fish to one-another, in an assembly like fashion, and sing and crack jokes… because their having fun. They “play” and “make your day” for their audiences, and their attitudes and work ethic is so caring, that after watching them, it makes you want to go out and try it yourself. Really. 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day to one and all, and I’ll see you all tomorrow for really exciting news. Have a great day everyone.
