A picture is worth a thousand words.

On Sunday, we went back to one of our all-time favorite summer spots; the water park!!! Willy LOVES the water park near our home. He gets so excited at the prospect of running through fountains, getting sprayed, and catching as much water as he can in his little watering can.

Every year, Jason and I watch our little boy with such awe and amazement, because we always see such a difference in him from year to year, especially at the water park. This year was especially wonderful because of his language burst, his ability to socialize more with his peers, and share his toys without getting… “handsey.”

Take a look at these pictures, because a picture is worth 1000 words.

Willy is actually talking to these boys and showing them how big the fountain is.

Their all calling it “gooey geyser” from Dora the Explorer.
The look on his face is priceless; the gooey geyser shot up to be twice it’s size.   “I’m brave” he kept saying over and over.

“Follow me, mommy” he kept saying to me. So I did.

We spent almost 2 hours at the water park. His behavior was spot-on perfect, and we kept telling him how proud we were of him. And the best part of all, was when it was time to go. Willy went willingly without a tantrum or fight. We gave him a five minute warning, followed by a three minute warning, followed by a one minute warning. When it was time to go he asked for “one more minute” and we gladly obliged.

The three of us walked to the car hand-in-hand, smiling and laughing,  because smooth transitions don’t really happen too often for our boy. I can’t tell you how proud I am of him and how I know that this is the beginning of good times ahead, more day trips to fun and exciting places, and hopefully smoother transitions. I do expect a few bumps in the road, but that’s exactly what they are. Bumps.

Cheers to that!!! 🍻
