Hi. My name is Jill. I’m a 30 something year old mom with a 5 year old son who has Autism, severe ADHD, and an Anxiety disorder. I am a happily married woman, but our journey has not been an easy one, and it has been tested time and time again. I am also an ABA Professional, working for a private company and helping families receive ABA services. So I know what it’s like to deal with the day to day trials and tribulations that life throws at all of us.
When I write about my son, please know that I am not using his real name. I would like to keep his privacy on the down low, until he’s ready to read this blog someday in the future. So, please read and share my blog. I try to touch upon the anecdotal, the raw, the real, and the everything else in between that happens in my family’s life. And remember, at one time or another, we are all in the same boat, so please don’t judge one another.
Many thanks and happy reading,

  1. Just wanted to let you know I’ve nominated you for a Sunshine Blog Award. Hope you don’t mind. I am truly inspired by your blog and your openness and willingness to share and raise awareness. You can just keep it and know I think your blog is awesome, or pass it on if you like. If you don’t participate in awards, that’s okay too! You can find the details here if you’d like. http://adhdkristi.wordpress.com/2014/05/09/a-beautiful-sunshiny-kind-of-day-with-the-sunshine-blog-award/

  2. Hi, I just found your blog…its really awesome.
I have been looking for a blog like yours for a long time. One that just discusses the day to day and a day in the life of a family living with Autism. I am an Aussie mum with a little 3.5 year old son with Autism….thanks for sharing. xxx

    • You are most welcome, Tracey and thanks for the sweet compliment. I’m so glad that you can relate. It isn’t easy at times, but thank goodness we are not alone. Welcome to Square Peg. Xoxoxo

  3. Hi I really loved your blog and I can’t wait to read more so I have followed you! I am a student speech and language therapist from England and I found your blog so inspiring! Please take a look at my page and follow if you want to- thanks!

      • I have a new category “real stories real people” which I want to add real stories, inspiring others. I’ve written a lot of my own stories on my site but I wanted to share beyond it.
I have an open application for people that would like to share, but every time I see stories that can add to the public and inspire others like yours, I invite them myself.
I think your writing is good too, clear and to the point.
I would love if you would accept it. Email me for more info.
        Thank you!
