Happy Thanksgiving

Good day my friends, and Happy Thanksgiving. Since a good portion of my readers are not native to the United States, I wanted to give you a brief definition of Thanksgiving.

Some of you have holiday traditions like cooking, decorating for the holidays, or participating in “midnight madness” shopping, like yours truly here, but some of you may not.

And that’s okay.

Thanksgiving is a time for you to take a step back and take a breather. It’s a time to stop for a minute and take a look around. Take a look at what’s really important. Think about it. It’s not really about the food (okay maybe a little), but it’s a time to give thanks. It’s a time to look around you and be thankful for the air in your lungs, the people who make a difference in your life, the roof over your head, and the things in your life that you’ve accomplished and feel proud of.

It’s about LOVE.

So if you can today, take a moment and give “thanks.” Tell someone you love, that you appreciate them. Take a look back at all that you’ve accomplished throughout your life, and give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it.

And don’t forget to take a deep breath. Now, take another. Think about your current state of health. Are you in recovery? Are you in remission? Do you have a flu or virus? Or are you feeling perfectly fine right now? Think about how you’ve felt in the past compared to how you feel now. Are you in a better place than you were previously? Today’s the day to think about your current state of health and to be thankful for the air in your lungs, the fact that your heartbeats, and the affect that you have on the people around you. You are loved and very special.

Today, I am thankful for my beautiful family, inside and out. I am thankful for the friends that I have, The roof over my head, and the fact that my family and I have overcome so much in the past year, that we’re still here, standing, smiling, and able to talk about it openly. But most importantly, I am thankful for all of you. Thank you for coming into my life daily, sharing your personal stories and triumphs with me, and laughing and crying along with me. Thank you for cheering me and my family on, and thank you for your support.

Have a great day, relax, breathe deep. Happy thanksgiving.
